An event benefiting kids in foster care
Let’s make every step count
Each day in our community, children in crisis show up at the Department of Human Services (DHS) in need of a safe home where they can flourish. In the Portland Metro Area, hundreds of children enter the foster care system each year while DHS faces a crisis shortage of foster homes.
It’s not enough.
Because family is necessary. Because neighborhood relationships matter. Because you have something to bring to the table. You matter.
What if you became a foster parent? What if you volunteered at your local DHS office? What ideas do you have?

This is a fun run! This is an open course, meaning there may be other people on the path who are not participants. Please be respectful of others. If you are using a stroller please use it single file with other strollers. We will have a brief overview of the race course at 8:55 am.
The race course is 2 loops. Participants start in the soccer field nearest to second base and run down the path past the skateboard park and between the tennis courts. They will continue running along the path and turn to head back up at the winter off leash dog park.
Participants will weave their way along the trail back up towards the starting field where a water station will be positioned along the path near the start. They will then repeat that loop and finish on the other side of the same field they started on.
Pictures will be available, free for download, on the website.
